So, it's been a good couple of days...

On Wednesday, my copy of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (2nd Edition) arrived. I read it and orgasmed, kind of.

Very, very pretty.

I then wrote a review for it for RPG.net (http://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/11/11192.phtml). It got posted and the page has so far had 3637 views, and the feedback comments were almost overwhelmingly positive. Must get back to work on the Unknown Armies review...

(I gave WFRP2 Style 5/5, Substance 4/5, if anyone's interested, with the proviso that I might alter the Substance score once I've actually playtested the very different combat rules.)

So yeah, that was fun.

This morning, I got an email from Stephane Gesbert. My Cthulhu Dark Ages example of play has gone online at the game's website: http://home.planet.nl/~dark.ages/

So that was cool too.

Then I got a phonecall from Lancaster Social Services. They offered me the word-processing job I had the interview for a few weeks back. I accepted. It'll be a couple of months before the CRB checks are out of the way, so I'll be relying on Tourist Information Centre work and Jobseekers' Allowance for a while yet, but financially, things are looking up.

We've been statting up characters for The Enemy Within, the WFRP campaign I'm going to be running soon, for the past few days. Basically, the party's stuck in the village of Untergard in the aftermath of a battle during the Storm of Chaos. Tom's playing a young noble who's just come of age while leading his father's militia levy. Kate's an elven wizard's apprentice whose master died while fighting alongside the humans and dwarfs in Untergard. Luke's a fisherman who was drafted into the Untergard militia. Thomas (a late recruit) is playing a dwarf handgunner whose regiment has been all but destroyed during the Battle of Untergard.

Just a few more PCs to generate, and a St. Martins' interview to get out of the way, and then I'll be ready to start running.
